Book Review (Homework)

October 20, 2009

The book I am reading is called the Phoenix Files by Chris Morphew. It is the first book in this series and has lots of twists and turns in it. At the start Luke Hunter finds out that he is moving to Phoenix a newly built town that seems to perfect to live in. The main reason for leaving was because of his parnets spliting up for a unknown reason. He has found it hard to get used to the new town because you can not contact outside the town from inside. He quickly makes some friends and find out that there is a massive plot to destroy the world in 100 days and these are the only kids who know about it. They have to think quickly to solve this problem because Luke is worried about his father because he can’t get in contact with him. So he is trying to leave the town through a back exit with his friends to get to a place were he can contact his father.

I really recommend this book because it is a great book if you like books if you don’t know what is going to happen. At the start of every chapter it says how many days are left. This is a great book and if you read it you will like it no matter what.

My Art Peice Krazy

August 12, 2009

Impressionistic art uses colour, line and shape to express the artist’s thoughts and feelings and ideas.

I chose to to do my art peice like it because I thought how I was feeling and drew lines and half cicles in all differnet directions. I called it krazy because it looked like things going everywere and when I looked at it and Krazy came to my mind.

I chose to do lots of different colours because I could not decide what sort of colour shcems I would do so I just did all different colours. Also because Krazy I believe means lots of things going on which means lots of colours. I am happy with my art peice and think I did a really good job.

Against The Spin By Michael Panckridge

July 29, 2009

In our class we got set a task to chose a person in the book we where reading to be a friend and give supporting reasons why.I chose Mitchell Grady as my friend because we noth have a lot in common. For example we love to play sport, hang out with friends and disover new things. He knowsn a lot about sport facts and its history. Another thing we have in common is our favourite cricket shot which is the cover drive which is on the off side. We both like to read about cricket and how it came to be and old scores of the games. He played a couple games for his local club that is just downthe street. He is also a intelligent thinker and thinks outside of the square and he is always positive aswell.

Personal Research Project

July 22, 2009

This term we have been set a project to do in our homework. The project subject is your own choice and how to present it is your own choice as well. For my topic I am going to do the Ashes (the cricket series between Australia and England). I chose to do this topic because I have a big interest in it and I want to know more about it. We have a lot of time to do our project so it isn’t a rush and we should take our time. I am looking forward to starting my presentation and presenting it to the class.

Smartkiddies (Homework)

July 21, 2009

We are allowed to use a website called smartkiddies that teaches us how to train ourselves to become better mathematicians and to learn how to do new maths problems and learn new skills. I enjoy doing smartkiddies because I play against lots of people from all around the world in world series. There is all different sort of levels you can do that range from 1-6. There is also lots of fun things to do that I haven’t done. For our homework we get set tasks to do on smartkiddies and they are normally the sort of work we are doing in the class.

Interview Post

June 24, 2009

I had an interview on Wednesday the 24thof June. I believe it went really well and my parents did to which makes me feel really proud. Now I am going to tell you about how I prepared my cue cards and how I presented them with my learning portfolio. I used my cue cards with dot points which suits me quite well because I find it hard to look up when I read something but this makes it a lot easyer. Finally I really hope all the interviews that are left go really well and they are proud of there speeches.

Storm Boy (Homework)

June 24, 2009

We have been reading a story about a boy called Storm Boy. After we read some pages we get set a task to do which may involve re-writing the text that we just read in our own words. I enjoy doing the work on Storm Boy because I believe it tells you a lot about how the people in that area used to live and what they believed in. I hope we do more tasks about Storm Boy and keep reading the book and watch the movie after we have finished the book.
